Mountain Biking and Cycling

The City of Oakridge is known as the “Mountain Biking Capital of the Northwest” and for good reason. There are literally hundreds of miles of single track paradise on well maintained trails in the forests surrounding the city.

Whether you’re looking for easy beginner or advanced riding this is the place.  Mountain biking is so much a part of the Oakridge / Westfir community that the International Mountain Biking Association chose Oakridge as one of six locations in the U.S. for an IMBA Ride Center.

Area mountain bike racing events include the Cascade Cream Puff 100 billed by many as the hardest one day race in the U.S., the Fall Classic Fat 55 endurance races and Mountain Bike Oregon (MBO).

Cycling

There is also road biking with excellent paved roads including the North Shore Rd #5821, the Aufderheide National Scenic Byway Rd #19, Salmon Creek Rd #24, Rd #2102 to Larison Rock, Hills Creek Rd #23, Hills Creek Reservoir Rd #21, High Prairie Rd #24 to Mountain View and Staley Creek Rd #2134 near Campers Flat.
