This site is located on Army Corps of Engineering land below Hills Creek Dam. You have to park at the top of road to the Powerhouse and walk into this area. In the spring and summer keep an eyes and ears open for Hermit, Black-throated Gray and Townsend Warblers as you walk down the road. As you get closer to the wetland you could see Yellow, Wilson, Yellow-rumped Warblers and around the pond many Common Yellow throats and Marsh Wrens. Bullock’s Oriole nest in this area. Rock Wrens have been seen in the rock on the face of the dam. Bald Eagles and Red-tailed Hawks are also present. Good location for woodpeckers. Lazuli Buntings and Western Bluebirds are seen here. The ponds here attract the same ducks seen at the Salmon Creek Pond and Mill Site Ponds.
